This prize is awarded to the player (other than any winner of the Jackpot Competition) who correctly predicts the highest number of match scores in the Weekly Competition. If two or more players have correctly predicted the same number of match scores, the winner will be the player who correctly predicts (or is closest to) the Golden Goal. Betfred have the following offers on this weekends Premier League games (23rd - 4th August 2008):
We will refund all losing first/last goalscorer, correct score and scorecast win single bets on the Wigan v Chelsea match on Sunday as a free bet - if Wigan keep a clean sheet.
And:
We will refund all losing first/last goalscorer, correct score and scorecast win single bets on the Man City v West Ham match on Sunday as a free bet - if West Ham lose from a winning position.
Approach for refund:
In both games the approach is to place a back and lay bet where the odds are as close as possible to each other, then should each condition occur - if Wigan keep a clean sheet in their match or is West Ham lose from a winning position in their match then any losing bets would quaify for a refund.
For the Chelsea v Wigan game try to stick to bets where the bet would lose if Wigan keep a clean sheet for example any correct score bet where wigan conceed a goal or any first goalscorer bet where Chelsea score.
As for the Man City v West Ham game any bet where where West Ham win the game i.e. 0-1 0-2 (so that they will not have lost from a winning position).

VC Bet are running the following offer this weekend on all premier league games:
Place a First Goal scorer bet and if your player fails to score the first goal but scores at any other time in the match VC Bet will refund your stake as a free bet on any future match.
This is a fairly decent offer from VC Bet as it is open to all premier league games this weekend meaning the potential to qualify for a free bet is fairly good.
Method:
The approach to this offer is to place a first goalscorer bet with VC Bet and lay it off at one of the betting exchanges such as betfair“>Betfair, where there is a close match available. A close match means the odds at the bookmaker are the same or at most very close to the lay odds on the same market and bet selection at Betfair.
For example say you find odds of 6.0 (decimal) on Torres in the Liverpool game a close match will be anything between 6.0 (ideal) and 6.5 depending on how much you are willing to lose by placing the qualifying bet.
Should your selected player score during the game but not the first goal you will be provided with a refund in the form of a free bet.

Tuesday, August 19th, 2008
There are a number of offers available for the various friendly matches being held on Wednesday 20th August 2008.
The pick of the bunch are detailed below along with the methods to participate in each offer to maximise the refund potential (the profit) and minimise the risk involved (the loss) by refund betting.
First up is Boylesports with the following offers (applies to single bets only, 90 minutes only and max refund is 300 Euro or equivalent):
Norway v Republic of Ireland - If Norway win from behind we will refund losing first/last/anytime goalscorer and correct score bets on this match.
England v Czech Republic - If England win from behind we will refund losing first/last/anytime goalscorer and correct score bets on this match.
Method: Find bets with odds that match as close as possible between Boylesports and one of the betting exchanges on either the first/last/anytime or correct score markets, trying to pick bets that will lose should the team come from behind to win. For example if England win from behind then any bet where England lose or draw i.e. 0-1 or 1-1 will be losing bets and qualify for the refund.
Next up is VC Bet with the following offer (maximum refund £100 per person):
England v Czech Repubic, Scotland v Northern Ireland, Georgia v Wales, Norway v Republic of Ireland & Finland v Israel
Place a first goal scorer bet and if your player fails to score the first goal but scores at any other time in the match VC Bet will refund your stake as a free bet on any future match.
Method: Back and lay a selection with close odds to qualify for minimal loss and should the selected player score during the game but not first then a refund will be given as a free bet on a future match. This can then be turned into profit by backing and laying a selection using the free bet. Try to find close matches on players that are likely to score as if a less favourite player scores first then the chances of a refund are higher as the favourites will have more chance of scoring the next goal.
Finally BGBet are running the following offer on the international matches (maximum stake £50):
Place a bet on the first goalscorer for any of the following games and if the player listed below scores at anytime, BGBet will refund all losing first goalscorer stakes on that match
England v Czech Republic - Emile Heskey
Norway v Republic of Ireland - Kevin Doyle
Wales v Georgia - Jason Koumas
Scotland v Northern Irleand - David HealyAND
If England v Czech Republic finishes in a 0-0 draw BGBet will refund all losing correct score bets on that game.
Method: As above back and lay a first goalscorer other than the players stated and should any of the players stated score then a refund will be given on losing bets.
The second offer as above requires a back and lay at close odds on the correct score market on any result other than 0-0 to qualify for the refund on offer from BGBet.
Any questions on the above offers or the process of refund betting then please feel free to email or post a comment at the bottom of the offer posts.

Another money back special from Paddy Power:
If the last goal in the above match is scored from a header, Paddy Power will refund all losing single 1st/last goalscorer, correct score & scorecast bets on this game.
This offer is slightly different from the usual due to the conditions of the last goal being scored from a header and also the restricted markets on the offer and the method to qualify for this offer is as follows:
From the selected markets of 1st/last goalscorer and correct score (scorecast cannot be used as it is near impossible to lay off at one of the betting exchanges such as Betfair. Provided a close match in odds can be found on one of the markets outcomes then that’s all that can be done. Take the small loss from matching the bet out and hope for a header as the last goal.
Should the last goal be scored by a header then you will be refunded your initial bet stake, if not then take the small loss and move onto the next refund / money back offer provided by one of the many online bookmakers.
